Chris Hemsworth's claim to fame in Hollywood was by landing a role in a remake of Star Trek in 2009 as Captain George Kirk, father of the famous lead role Kirk as portrayed by Chris Pine. He might have appeared in the said film during the first ten minutes but it paved way for him to be known in the entire world (as one hella gorgeos actor :P ). Soon this exposure landed him in one of the greatest franchise in Hollywood, the adaptation of Marvel's Superheroes, Thor with him as the leading actor. This Aussie actor will soon be seen onscreen as Thor in the upcoming film, The Avengers in April 2012 along with Chris Evans as Captain America with others.
